Goals and assists
Cardiff extended their winning run to ten games and their lead at the top to 11 points with a narrow win over Sheffield.
Nine games unbeaten the Devils had the better of the first period, despite the Steelers having some chances they didn’t capitalise on. They were made to pay as the Devils took a two-goal lead with Joey Martin and Jake Morissette scoring just over four minutes apart around the mid-point of the period.
Defending a two-game winning streak themselves the Steelers however hit back with a pair of goals of their own in the second. John Armstrong got the hosts back in the game 6:38 into the period, and then captain Jonathan Phillips got the final touch on the equaliser with 33:22 gone.
The game was decided by a goal inside the final five minutes – with the Steelers having missed some good opportunities themselves, Gleason Fournier took the points for the visitors with his winner at 55:49.
