Kosice fired coaches

Due the unsatisfactory results of the team, 4th after 32 rounds of Extraliga, HC Kosice fired coach Milan Jančuška and assistant Jerguš Bača. Marcel Šimurda and Peter Bartoš, both already in the coaching staff, will act as interim coaches

Oremus and Šimíček are new coaches of Košice

On last Monday, Jan 19, Slovak Extraliga club Košice removed Anton Tomko and Pavel Zůbek from the positions as the team coaches. From now on, the new men on the player's bench are Pavel Oremus and Roman Šimíček, who recently lead together the Czech club Vítkovice. Oremus and Šimíček come to the Košice Steelers while being the first, but after 5 losses in the last 7 games.

Milan Kolena seriously injured in a car accident

MHC Mountfield Martin forward Milan Kolena suffered a serious car accident on saturday morning near the village of Turčianska Štiavnička. According to club Facebook page Kolena underwent surgery. Site Turiec.sme.sk reported the player was in a car along with other three passengers, two men and a woman, all serious injured. "Circumstances and causes of the accident are under investigation" said regional police spokesman Radko Moravčík. Kolena was the captain of Slovakia U20 at the last World Championship and returned to Martin after starting the season at Kosice

New coaches in Slovakia

Three clubs from Extraliga announces new coaches in last day: champion Kosice appointed Anton Tomko from 1 Liga champion Bardejov as new coach. Same Bardejov announced Tomko's replacement, the former GKS Tychy coach Jan Vodila.
Silver medalist Zvolen signed former Kometa Brno assistant coach Lubomir Oslizlo. Finally Skalica will have Josef Turek on its bench. Turek coached Trinec last season

Kosice players apologize

The players of HC Kosice in Slovak Extraleague decided to apologize to the fans for Tuesday's 0-4 home loss to HKm Zvolen. Along with the leadership of the club they want to fight for the favor and support of the audience by paying the entrance for next match in Steel Arena, on Friday the 26th October against Banska Bystrica.

A fire in a transformer inside Steel Aréna without any electricity and forcing HC Košice to postpone their weekend matches with Zvolen on 12.October and Poprad on 14.October.

Coaches move in Czech Republic and Slovakia

Former Avangard Omsk experienced Rostislav Cada is the new coach of Slovan Bratislava. Cada will lead Slovak team in its first season in KHL. LEV Poprad coach Radim Rulík won't follow the team's relocation in Prague. He signs with Extraliga runner up HC Kosice.
In Czech Republic, František Výborný leaves Ceske Budejovice and signs for Mlada Boleslav while Milan Vrzal left Sparta Praha coaching staff to take the lead of Stadion Litomerice in First Division
