Odense surprise favourite Renon and can dream the trophy

One to keep the hope alive, other to stay at the top of standing before the last clash: Odense Bulldogs and Renon play a crucial game closing day#2 of the Superfinals. Odense recovered Mads Schaarup, uncertain after the first battle but lost for the tournament Asger Petersen, injured; Renon has full roster and the support of a crowded arena. The first period sees Odense very aggressive, skating faster than opponents but unable to fruitful the predominance, while Renon tends to take advantage on a better individual skill. However both goalies have not much work because defences play very tight; the score is opened by a mistake by Renon goalie Patrick Killeen in cooperation with a Borgatello: an harmless puck isn’t controlled well by the two players, Oliver Nielsen touch it easily in the net. Renon feels the pressure, Max Ploner takes 10 minutes for a tough charge on the board and a successive penalty called to Ebner and Borgatello leave the team in double inferiority for the last seconds of the period. Danish takes advantage of superiority in the second period, doubling the score with a deflection of Dale Mitchell in front of Killeen from a pass by Tony Romano. Immediately after the goal Renon could score with Thomas Spinell: his one-to-one is won by Galansky, and also Romano at 27 sees his beautiful assolo stopped by Killeen. At 35 Renon once again concedes a 5vs3 situation, showing a good penality killing without being able to threaten the Danish cage when attacking.  In the third period Odense handles the attacks of Renon, despite some good chances by Tudin, Markus Spinell and Cole, all rebounded by Galansky and freezes the game at 49:13 when Sebastian Strandberg finished a fast counter-attack by Dale Mitchell. Renon ends the fast with Dan Tudin netting a backhand pass from Janis Sprukts, pull the goalie trying all out but suffered the fourth goal empty-net by Strandberg. The surprising result put Odense in the race for the title, while Renon has still a chance beating Nottingham (if Danish team loose with Beybarys)

MVP: Janis Sprukts – Sebastian Strandberg
