ZSC wins the match of the night

17 Sep 2016 | Luis Lopes

ZSC defeat the defending champions. Ambri and Langnau still without win.

Zug 2 Davos 1

A tight game in the first period between two very good teams. Finnish player Jarkko Immonen opened the scoring in the second period for the home team. Andreas Ambuhl tied it for Davos. But Dominic Lammer got the game winning goal in the third period for the home team.

Geneva 3 Kloten 4 SO

Geneva had the game controlled in the beginning of the third period with an advantage of two goals. It was without count of the fighting spirit from Kloten. The visiting team reversed the game and won it in shootout. Kloten is now positioned in the fourth place thanks to young goalie Luca Bolthauser. In four games he presents 1.48 GAA and a 95.73 SV% .

Lausanne 2 Fribourg 0

A very tactical game between Swiss French rival. Neither teams wanted to give any chances to score in the neutral zone. The goal from Dustin Jeffrey 42 seconds into the third period opend the game. But French goalie Cristobal Huet managed to keep his team in the good rails.

Lugano 4 Langnau 3

Tough life for Langnau in these first games of the season. Playing at Lugano didn't help either. Luca Fazzini scored the first for the home team. Before the first period ended former NHL first round pick Rob Schremp tied the game for Langnau. And Di Domenico created a surprise with a second goal for the visiting team. But Langnau doesn't get any break this season. And with three goals in the third period they put Langnau in trouble. Thomas Nussli scored for the Tigers in the end of the game but it would be too late. Five games, five defeats for Langnau.

Bern 2 ZSC 4

In the game between the two teams with the strongest budget, Robert Nilson was the first to score. Led by Mark Arcobello Bern reversed the game, but it was far from over. Has been written before that everyone can score in the visiting team. Tonight Chris Baltlisberger, Mattias Sjögren and Pius Suter in the third period won the game for Zurich.

Biel 5 Ambri 1

After four defeats in four games Ambri desperately needed a win. And there's no better way than start with a goal. D'Agostini profit from some confusion in Hiller's zone to score the first in game. Biel tied the game in a power-play situation four minutes later by Marco Pedretti assisted by Gaetan Haas. The second goal for home was score by top scorer Fabien Sutter in a penalty situation. The third goal was scored by Robbie Earl in a rebound situation and before the second period Toni Rajala with a takeaway made the fourth goal for the home team. Ex Lulea player Jacob Micflikier scored the fifth for the home team to determinate to continue his redemption from last year.  Six games six defeats for Ambri.
