Linus Omark - Forward of the Year in Swedish ice hockey

Every season since 2012/13 Kamratföreningen Hockeyjournalisterna and Concent Holding AB with Mikael Fahlander name the Forward of the Year in Swedish hockey. For the first time the award has been given to a player who plays in a league outside Sweden.

 
 
 
 

It is Linus Omark, 29, who plays for Salavat Yulaev Ufa of the KHL who has been named. The 29-year-old who was born in Övertorneå, but trained in Luleå HF has had a really good season.

In the KHL, he was best Swedish scorer in both the regular season to the playoffs. In total 73 points including 23 goals. In the World Championships in Moscow there was no goal for Linus, but six assists.

Linus Omark has enormous experience and besides the KHL and SHL he has also played in Switzerland and the NHL (Edmonton Oilers).

Linus is now facing his second season for Salavat Yulaev in the KHL.
