The first game of the best-of-seven Masaryk Cup final series 2015 between the Czech regular season champion Třinec (107p.) and the runner-up Litvínov (105p.) goes to the away team 1-3, when all goals were scored in power plays.
Although the Oceláři Třinec started the game with their typical pressure, it was Litvínov who scored an early goal. Less then after six minutes of the play Karel Kubát used his team's first power play in the game.
Třinec tied the score twenty minutes later. Before the goal situation, Martin Ručinský of Litvínov earned a minor penalty for tripping in the 22nd minute and just 72 seconds later Kamil Piroš got a double-minor penalty for highsticking. Thus the Metallurgists received almost a minute long 5-on-3 advantage which remained unused, however in the rest of Piroš's four minutes penalty Jiří Polanský did score the equalizer.
Yet in the second period, destiny of the game was decided. The Verva Litvínov transformed both further Třinec penalties into goals and closed out the list of goals on 1-3: František Lukeš registered the game-winning-goal during a penalty of home Štefan Růžička and just a minute before the horn Tomáš Pavelka insured the victory while smitting a roughing-foul by Tomáš Linhart.
OCELÁŘI TŘINEC – VERVA Litvínov 1:3 (0:1, 1:2, 0:0)
The actual score of the final series: Třinec v. Litvínov 0-1
