Kloten lose to Servette

After tonight's loss, the Flyers now have a 9 point deficit to 8th placed EHC Biel.
With Geneva in town, the Flyers took a new attempt to collect 3
points. But the start was, once again, a bad one and just 30 seconds
into the game Kloten took a penalty which Servette used to score their
first goal of the game at 2 minutes played. Frédéric Iglesias (no he's
not Enrique's Brother) scored on an assist by Matthew Lombardi and Kevin
Romy. The rest of the period both teams played a rather slow game with
little chances on either side which wasn't very pleasant for the fans to
watch.
Second period and this time goalie Müller only neede 59 seconds to grab
the puck from behind him as Taylor Pyatt scored the 2nd goal, assisted
by his brother Tom and Daniel Rubin. In the middle period, the shots
were split almost equally with Kloten firing 10 shots on goalie Bays
while Müller was tested 9 times.
Finally, after 4 minutes of play in the final period, Simon Bodenmann
succeeded on a pass by youngster Denis Hollenstein but the effort that
had to be put into that goal seemed enormous. The home team wasn't able
to mobilize any further power, Coach Sean Simpson removed his goalie for
the last minute but other than a shot on goal was all the Flyers had
left.
Cyrill Bühler who returned from an injury wasn't very happy with his
comeback. "We have two choices. Give up, or fight. There's 12 games left
and it won't be easy." EHC Biel who hold the 8th and final playoff spot
are now 9 points ahead of the Flyers. Theoretically everything is
possible but the attitude the team has shown in the past games predicts a
tough trip if the Flyers want to make the play-offs. Coach Sean Simpson
was sparing with words when asked about tonight's game, repeating the
comments of the previous interviews, that his team hadn't played bad but
didn't win the game, that the only thing his team could do is to
continue working hard.
