Sweden beat Denmark 5-1 to get the second win on the second day of the World Junior Championship.

A clear win in the stats but on the ice the game was closer than 5-1. Sweden's William Nylander got a breakaway in the first minute but besides that it was most about Denmark in the first half of period one. The first Swedish powerplay was horrible giving the Danes a couple of good scoring chances.

Sweden then got 1-0 at 09:48 when Lucas Wallmark intercepted a Danish pass and put it high behind Georg Sørensen. Sweden forced hard towards the Danish net and two minutes later Anton Blidh could make it 2-0. And it wasn't over yet. After a quite good Danish power-play Sweden got a counter attack. Jacob de la Rose dropped the puck to William Nylander who put it high for 3-0 which was the score after the first period.

Denmark switched goalies after the first periods but it took only 13 seconds for the new goalie Thomas Lillie to allow a goal. Jacob de la Rose beat him with a low shot close to the post. The Danes got on the scoring sheet after a strong effort by Nick Olesen less than a minute later. Sweden got its fifth goal late in the second period when Sebastian Aho took a shot from the blue line.

Tired Danish players were outshot 21-3 in the third period but Sweden couldn't get more goals. With four mins remaining Denmark was close to a short-handed goal but Axel Holmström cleared the puck just as it was about to cross the line.

"All our lines produce. It's just to keep on going", says Nylander to TV3.

Sweden's question-mark regarding the goalies may be over after another solid performance by Linus Söderström in the net who made 19 saves.

"He was really tested in both games and made it well", coach Grönborg says about his goalie.

Both teams get to rest tomorrow. On Monday Denmark plays Czech Republic while Sweden faces Russia.
