The last act of European tournament will be in Germany

The 2015 IIHF Continental Cup Super Final will take place in Bremerhaven, Germany, 9-11 January.

The host club Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven will play Kazakh champion Yertis Pavlodar, the Angers Ducs from France and Belarusian champion Neman Grodno in the round-robin event.

The four teams advanced recently from the third stage of the preliminary round that was played from 21 to 23 November. Bremerhaven already successfully hosted a tournament in the second round of the Continental Cup.

Games in the biggest German city at the North Sea will be played at the Eisarena Bremerhaven that opened in 2011, has a capacity for 4,422 spectators and also hosted exhibition games of the German men’s national team.

During the second weekend of January a successor will be searched for Norway’s Stavanger Oilers, which won the Super Final last year in Rouen, France.

For the first time the IIHF Continental Cup will also determine a qualifier for the Champions Hockey League. The best team from the Super Final – except for Bremerhaven, which cannot qualify due to playing only in the second-tier league of its country – will play in the Champions Hockey League in the 2015/2016 season
