26 Oct 2014 | Andreas Reiner
For the Deutschland Cup which takes place from 7.-9. November, the new Swiss head coach has nominated 9 rookies to the 25 player squad.
The championship will rest from 4th to 9th November when Glen Hanlon,
the new Swiss head coach will train in Kloten with 25 players during the
week before heading to Munich. New to the national team are Sandro
Zurkirchen (HC Ambri-Piotta), Jannik Fischer (Lausanne HC),
Lorenz Kienzle (HC Lugano), Ramon Untersander (EHC Biel), Chris
Baltisberger (ZSC Lions), Christoph Bertschy (SC Bern), Enzo Corvi (HC
Davos), Mike Künzle (ZSC Lions) and Dario Simion (HC Davos).
Switzerland finished second last year, loosing only to the USA in a 4-5
loss. This should be a good possibility for the young players to show
their skills and put on some competition for those players who normally
have a spot secured. The Swiss will face competition against host Germany, Slovakia and Canada.
