He played in Frölunda between 1997 and 2003, before returning to Linköping after a season in Langnau, Switzerland. 2007 he got a NHL contract with Chicago Blackhawks but was traded to the Florida Panthers. During the 2008/2009 he played for HK Atlant of KHL before returning to Linköping again.

Magnus Johansson has won World Championship title and two silvers and three bronze medals at the same tournament. He also won the award Guldpucken in 2009/2010. He is important both for Linköping and for the Swedish national team Tre Kronor where is he is one the players with most games played the last seasons. "I hope to win the Swedish Championship with Linköping and then play at the World Championship" he says.

Magnus Johansson is the second player from Linköping HC to win the award. The first one was Tony Mårtensson who got it in 2007/08. The award will be presented before the start of the game between Linköping and Skellefteå on Monday evening. "I had not expected to win this award but I'm pleased with my season so far and it's always fun to be appreciated", Magnus Johansson says.
