Regular season winner Avangard Omsk is close to elimination in the KHL playoffs. Today they lost 4-1 at home to Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk.

Avangard Omsk won KHL´s regular season, 43 points ahead of Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk who ended up in the 15th place. Today Neftekhimik won 4-1 away to take a 3-2 lead of the series - and to earn two "match points". Igor Polygalov gave Neftekhimik the lead at 2:20. It took another 26 minutes before Alexei Kalyuzhny could tie it. Renat Mamashev scored 1-2 late in the middle act. In the third period Pavel Brendl added another away goal and Evgeny Lapenkov finished the scoring with an empty netter at 58:31.

Gleb Klimenko got the overtime goal when Metallurg Magnitogorsk beat Yugra 4-3. Metallurg took an early 3-0 lead on goals by Tomas Rolinek, Gleb Klimenko and Pavel Zdunov. Yugra got back and tied the game in the second period. After a goal-less third period, Klimenko scored his second goal of the game at 6:22 of the overtime.
