Glen Hanlon will earn a $170 000 a year as a head coach of Belarus national team. The head of Belorussian ice hockey federation Evgeny Vorsin announced it in a press-conference in Minsk.

"I think it is not a commercial secret - Glen Hanlon will earn about $ 170 million a year" - Vorsin said.

The contract with the Canadian specialist was signed at the end of June this year and came into effect on July 1. He signed for two years with a possible extension for another year. Henlon can earn half a million dollars during 3 years working in Belarus.

Glen Henlon led the team in Belarus twice. The first time the coach has taken up the post in 2005, he led the team without getting paid. Under his leadership the team of Belarus took 10th place at the World Championship 2005, and in 2006 it was 6th. It is the highest place for the Belarus team before and after that too. Also in 2006 at the request of Henlon primary employer - the NHL, "Washington Capitals" – he was forced to give up the combination. He couldn’t work in club and in national team at the same time.

In 2009 Henlon again became the head coach of Belarus and Dinamo Minsk club in KHL. Belarus was 8th in the World Championship-2009 and 8th in IIHF ranking. So the Belarus team could go to Olympics-2010, passing the qualification.

In October 2010 Henlon was dismissed from Dinamo Minsk with scandal, and just two weeks later, he resigned as coach of the national team of Belarus.

Belarus played 32 matches +14 = 3-15, the goal difference: 79-77 while Glen Hanlon was a head coach of the Belarus team.

World Championship-2014 will be held in Belarus.
