Solway Sharks completed their regular NIHL1 North season with another four-point weekend. On Saturday they faced Whitley Warriors and ran out comfortable 5-0 winners – Ross Murray (2), Bob Chalmers, Struan Tonnar and Stevie Adams got the goals.

The following evening Sharks travelled to Sheffield Spartans and after a tight opening couple periods, they put on a masterclass in the third to claim a 10-4 victory – Adam Reynolds (6), Nathan Salem (3) and John Connolly were on the scoresheet.

Sharks have confirmed their play-off semi-final dates against Blackburn. The teams meet at Dumfries Ice Bowl on Saturday 13 th April, with the return at Blackburn Arena the following evening.

Solihull Barons moved up to second in NIHL2 North after a crushing 8-0 win over Nottingham Lions. Barons will secure their place in the promotion play-off against Coventry Blaze if they match Deeside Dragons’ result in their final games. Solihull travel to face Nottingham, while Deeside are at Hull Stingrays.

The other fixture in NIHL2 saw Fylde Flyers win 5-3 at Blackburn Eagles.
