USA enter the World Juniors with a big win

Germany was held scoreless against the Americans in Ufa. Eight different players scored the goals when USA got an impressive 8-0 win. The German team lost 3-9 to Canada yesterday and 0-8 to USA today, but the key game to avoid relegation will be the one against Slovakia on Sunday.
Germany was unable to beat the American goalie John Gibson today even if they got to play quite a lot of time on 2-man advantage.
After a strong start of the game it was no problem for the Americans to cruise towards a solid big win.
Sean Kuraly needed only 19 seconds to beat the German goalie Marvin Cüpper. Jacob Trouba made it 2-0 after a heavy screen in front of the German net. Before half the first period was played Alex Galchenyuk made it 3-0 after an individual initiative and a magnificent shot.
In the second period the Americans scored even faster. Germany's captain Stephan Kronthaler fell and lost the puck to Galchenyuk who passed it to Riley Barber who made it 4-0 after 14 seconds. Shane Gostisbehere's 5-0 on the powerplay was allowed in spite of an American attacker in the goalie crease. Ryan Hartman made it 6-0 on a breakaway after a poor line shift by the German team.
After 20 minutes without a goal J.T. Miller used a German mistake to make it 7-0 at 48:36. 8-0 was scored by Seth Jones on a crossbar wrist shot.
Alex Galchenyuk (USA) and Nickolas Latta (GER) were named the best players of the game.
