Top teams win in Elitserien

The three top teams Skellefteå, Luleå and HV 71 all won when Elitserien continued after a few days off. The four team at the bottom of the standings all lost. Oscar Sundh, Samuel Påhlsson and Christian Engstrand are all back in action after injuries.
MODO-AIK 2-0
MODO's Samuel Påhlsson played his first game of the season following a heel injury. Norwegian star Per-Åge Skrøder scored 1-0 for MODO halfways through the game and assisted Niklas Sundström for the 2-0 goal a minute before the end when AIK had pulled its goalie Daniel Larsson. Bernhard Starkbaum guarded MODO's net and made 34 saves to earn his fifth shutout of the season.
Timrå-Skellefteå 2-4
League leading Skellefteå beat Timrå 4-2. Johan Alm, Oscar Lindberg, Pontus Petterström and George Holloway scored for the game winning visitors. For Timrå Anton Wedin scored his first two Elitserien goals.
Rögle-Frölunda 1-2 (SO)
Andreas Johnson got the winner in the shoot-out when Frölunda got two important points away to Rögle. Rögle took the lead just after the 30 minute mark on a power play goal by Jesper Jensen. Fredrik Eriksson tied it four minutes later. Rögle got a 2-minute power play in the overtime period but failed to decide the game.
Växjö-Luleå 1-4
The European Trophy winner Luleå got a solid win away to Växjö Lakers.Kim Hirschovits scored 0-1 in the first period. Another Finn, Niklas Fogström, made it 0-2 at 28 minutes of play. Four minutes later Chris Abbott makes it 0-3. Luleå also made it 0-4 (Lukas Kilström) before Björn Karlsson could score the only home goal of the day.
Färjestad-Linköping 1-4
Linköping's goalie Christian Engstrand came back after seven weeks off due to an injury. He made 32 saves to win the game but was taken to hospital after the game after a collapse in the locker room due to cramps and dehydration. Eric Himelfarb scored twice for the visitors and Robin Figren and Simon Hjalmarsson a goal each. Joakim Hillding scored Färjestad's goal.
HV71-Brynäs 2-1 (OT)
Oscar Sundh played his first game for HV after his severe concussion in October and he assisted to HV's both goals in the 2-1 win against Brynäs. Johan Davidsson made it 1-0 and Dennis Persson 1-1, both in the second period. The game went to overtime where Mattias KArlsson could decide it for HV71 after 3:09.
