Nestled in a river valley in the White Carpathian Mountain range is a municipality named Brumov-Bylnice. The first written record of this area in the Czech Republic was in 1255 AD, and on August 15 another written record will take place when seven women’s ice hockey teams will partake in the 2nd Annual Czech Women’s Summer Cup.

 
 
 
 
The round robin tournament features some of the top clubs in Europe with five of the seven clubs participating in this years IIHF European Women’s Championship Cup.  Tornado Moscow is returning to defend their tournament title after having a very successful 2011-12 campaign winning the European Women’s Championship and the Russian League Championship.  ESC Planegg (Germany), HC Agidal Ufa (Russia), Pantera Minsk (Belarus), EHV Sabres Vienna (Austria), Slavia Praha (Czech Republic), and Team Netherlands will be in the hunt to disrupt Tornado’s quest for a second trophy.
